Course Description
 More Details

Initial teacher certification can now be earned through The Georgia Teacher Academy For Preparation and Pedagogy (GaATPP) provided by Northwest Georgia RESA in collaboration with the public school systems.

Phase I: The Teacher Academy For Preparation and Pedagogy (GaTAPP) consists of approximately 350 - 520 hours which include an initial course, field experiences, observations, pre- and post-observation conferences with an assigned mentor and other support team members, as well as other experiences.

Phase II: The Candidate Support Team and the Candidate will develop a plan to meet the required competencies for certification, which could include additional professional learning courses and/or college coursework.

It is important that the candidate's Baccalaureate Degree is in a related teaching field.  If there are any questions as to the status of the degree, the RESA Executive Director or the RESA Coordinator in charge of the Georgia TAPP program must be contacted for verification of eligibility for the program.
